Sets from KFC to McDonalds to Pizza Hut is everywhere. They are not merely in the major cities and tourist city, but occur in smaller cities like Khon Kaen and Phitsanulok. Granted, I'm a junk food junkie in the states, but often in Thailand, I have a tendency to eat the neighborhood food. Actually it is Thai junk food. I choose to eat in the local street vendors that can have a dish ready for you in less than one-minute. And, it is a whole lot cheaper and nicer than the local Burger King. But, when I am in Thailand for three or four days, ultimately I give in and need some burgers, fried chicken, or pizza. And, for my Thai partner, it is a special treat to eat from of the American "restaurants." I love to eat the new seafood at the local restaurants, when I go to Khon Kaen. Bar-B-Que prawn with veggies and rice is all I need for dinner. My sweetheart are certain to get some oysters and papaya salad and all is good. When we come in the room and choose to stay in to watch a DVD movie, she just wants to call the Pizza Company for a few pizza and chicken wings. I get the pizza and she devours the wings. Breakfasts are usually common cost of rice and eggs with perhaps a cash or two. Periodically it'll be Thai soup or a noodle dish like pad thai. Once in a little while we like to go to a lodge run by foreigners and they have an "American" breakfast. Dinners are treats for me personally. I like to get some chicken or pork BBQ on a stick to some sticky rice. Or, if my woman is in a great mood, she will get up to get and KFC some hot chicken sandwiches. And, naturally, she gets me the blueberry cheesecake treat. We both appreciate the Khon Kaen restaurants which can be across the local lake or rivers. They have these little, thatched booths with good views. The food and service is great and some have a band playing regional Thai country music. So, Thailand has the most readily useful of both sides. You can get anything from a pizza into a hamburger, or fried rice and noodles. Great food and very costs.
