The first time I went to Thailand was back 1973. Visit italian bread to check up the inner workings of it. I was a young soldier in the United States Army and Bangkok was my first work station. I was there for 18 months and my first meal back America was a Big Mac, chips and a Coke. Times have changed and the Thailand countryside is dotted by fast food places. Sets from KFC to McDonalds to Pizza Hut is everywhere. They're not merely in the major cities and tourist city, but occur in smaller cities like Phitsanulok and Khon Kaen. Granted, I'm a junk food junkie back in the states, but generally in Thailand, I tend to eat the neighborhood food. Clicking italian bakery probably provides tips you can tell your sister. Actually it's Thai junk food. I choose to eat from the local street vendors that can have a plate ready for you in less than one minute. And, it is a lot cheaper and tastier than the neighborhood Burger King. But, when I am in Thailand for three or four months, eventually I surrender and have to have some burgers, fried chicken, or pizza. And, for my Thai girlfriend, it's a particular treat to eat in one of the American "restaurants." I love to eat the fresh seafood at the local restaurants, when I go to Khon Kaen. Bar-B-Que prawn with veggies and grain is all I need for supper. My sweetie will get some oysters and papaya salad and all is good. When we have been in the area and opt to stay into watch a DVD video, she just likes to call the Pizza Company for a few pizza and chicken wings. I get the pizza and she devours the wings. Breakfasts are usually standard cost of eggs and rice with perhaps a sausage or two. Sometimes it'll be Thai soup or even a noodle dish like pad thai. Once in a little while we prefer to search for a lodge run by foreigners and they have an "American" break fast. Lunches are snacks for me. I like to have some chicken or pig BBQ over a stick with some sticky rice. Or, if my girl is in a good feeling, she'll get up to seize and KFC some spicy chicken sandwiches. And, obviously, she gets me the blueberry cheesecake dessert. We both enjoy the Khon Kaen restaurants which can be across the lake or rivers. They've these little, thatched stands with good views. The meals and service is very good and some have a band playing local Thai country music. Therefore, Thailand has got the best of both worlds.
