Opis: | This talk is part of the RandLRAP project workshop and is jointly hosted within the seminar. In this talk, two new frameworks for structure-preserving model
reduction of structured LTI systems will be presented. First, we introduce an approach for symmetric second-order systems based
on positive real balanced truncation. Our method guarantees to preserve
passivity of the reduced-order model as well as the positive definiteness
of the mass and stiffness matrices and admits an a priori gap metric error bound.
Our construction of the second-order reduced model is based on the
consideration of an internal symmetry structure and the invariant zeros of
the system and their sign-characteristics for which we derive a normal form. Second, we propose a new framework that is based on frequency-domain samples
of an underlying transfer function. We parametrize a reduced-order model and fit
the parameters as best as possible to the collected frequency domain data using an objective
functional that aims at reducing the H-infinity error between the full- and the reduced-
order model. This method is illustrated for port-Hamiltonian systems. |
